Why equipment cleaning is a different service
A forklift cab is a workspace with controls, a seat, a screen and often a safety device or camera. Cleaning it means working on equipment where operators complete pre-start inspections, and a cleaner introducing moisture near a control panel or moving a mirror creates a problem the operator inherits. Equipment cleaning also usually happens as part of servicing or as an operator task at shift change rather than after hours.
There is also the question of what comes off. Vehicle washing produces water carrying oil, grease and site residue, which needs a bunded wash bay and an appropriate discharge arrangement. Doing it on a hardstand that drains to stormwater is not acceptable, which means a wash is a facility question before it is a cleaning one. Sites with a wash bay usually have a service arranged for it already.
